UPCOMING EVENTS:
We play and train in the £17.5 million Sportspark complex on campus, which boasts some of the best volleyball facilities in the UK. We are also lucky enough to receive first class coaching from ex-international and Sportspark Director Keith Nicholls, EVA development coach of the year Dave Richards and club president Max Askwith (See Training Times and Coaches for profiles). So whether you are an experienced player or just want to take up a fast and fun sport we can help you achieve and improve in a fun and friendly environment.

In the past few seasons we have toured to International Student Competitions in
Koblenz (Germany), Barcelona (Spain) and Milan (Italy). Last year we entered two teams into a 3 day tournament in Barcelona, one of which managed to reach the semi-final of the competition. We stayed for a few extra days to take in the sights and sounds, including the Noucamp on a saturday evening. We also had a team enjoy a brilliant few days in Milan.

We will definitely be heading to at least one International tournament this year, with Valencia, Vienna, Paris, Dublin, Montpellier and a return to sunny Barcelona or Milan all a possibility.

We have also started to enter summer beach and grass tournaments, last summer we entered and picked up trophies at Whitefield International Tournament and the Great Yarmouth Beach Classic, competitions we should be entering again this year. And with the recent purchase of an outdoor net system we can play outdoors, either on grass or sand when ever the British weather will let us.

This past season has been the most successful in the clubs recent history, with the Men finishing 6th for the second year running and the Women finishing a very impressive 5th place at the national Student Cup. Both teams also won the Eastern Regional leagues. Our efforts and achievements last year were recognised by the union, who nominated us for five club and society awards (adding to last years three), and awarding us with one of the biggest awards; Outstanding achievement in sport, to follow on from last years Sports Club of the Year, meaning we are STILL officially the best club at UEA! We received it not only because of our on court achievements, but also because of the atmosphere off of it, and how happy and polite our members are. With the majority of members remaining next year could be even better. If you are thinking of coming to UEA or are already at it then please feel free to contact the committee to discuss anything in relation to the club.
